MANDI, Hand Tufted Rugs are Promotional quality Tufteds woven by a ‘hand-tufting gun’ to inject tufts of wool (usually) on to a large frame of cotton fabric, like needle-point fabric or rug. Thus the knots are in “U” shape, which thereafter are sealed by Latex backing. Further, another layer of cotton fabric is cladded over the latex to give it’s final backing (seen by you). The weaving process may take a fraction of time relative to Knotted rug weaving, and thus, the costs of Tufteds are more economical for almost the same type of look as Hand Knotteds. The plush pile of the hand-created patterns provide almost the same beauty as hand knotted at a low price.
